Hello 8th Wall was a four-hour, hands-on WebAR workshop in London in May 2023, run by Niantic's 8th Wall and led by Ollie in a single session. The event listing introduced him as an AR technologist and the founder of Tapaday and tnySocial.
The workshop was built for developers who wanted to learn the 8th Wall platform. Attendees built and customised their own 8th Wall project, a personalised WebAR business card they could show off to friends and colleagues, and met other local developers along the way. The Devpost page lists 36 participants and one non-cash prize.
Ollie already knew the platform well. As AR Development Lead at Poplar Studio, he built the instant-win prize mechanics for the Doritos x DICE campaign, which Poplar built with 8th Wall.
