Canon Event is a TikTok effect built for the "canon event" meme from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. It writes "Your canon event" above your head, flicks through outcomes such as hitting the gym, fumbling a 10/10, getting rich and being kicked out of your friend group, then lands on one.
Ollie posted it on 12 June 2023 under #canonevent and #spiderverse with the caption "Theres no avoiding it now"; that video has almost 900,000 plays. The effect has had more than 560 million views and been used in more than 770,000 videos.
