A daily minigame app that puts you head-to-head with your friends once a day.
Tapaday was a daily minigame app for iPhone. Each day everyone got the same new one-minute minigame, and friends were ranked against each other on a daily leaderboard. Ollie made it as an experiment in whether a BeReal-style daily app could work for games; Euronews described it as taking cues from BeReal but giving users "a random video game every day".
Ollie designed, built and marketed it on his own in a month, using Unity (C#) with a serverless Node.js backend. He announced it on TikTok in September 2022 with a video captioned "Please don't sue me BeReal", which has more than 410,000 plays and 64,000 likes.
In its first week of beta, while still iOS-only on TestFlight, Tapaday reached more than 1,000 users with no money spent on marketing. The app has since been removed from the App Store.

I'm a creative technologist with 10+ years in AR. My filters have been viewed more than 32 billion times across TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram, and I'm a Snapchat ambassador.
