A web AR campaign that gave away festival tickets, launched from posters around the UK.
Make Your Play was a Doritos campaign with the ticketing platform DICE, launched in the UK in June 2021 as live music returned after lockdown. Posters in ten UK cities, including London, Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff, carried a QR code that opened a WebAR experience. Fans placed a giant play button, shaped like a Doritos chip, in their surroundings; it then transformed into an audio-reactive portal of 3D objects and music, and gave them a chance to win festival, event and discounted tickets.
The experience was built at Poplar Studio with 8th Wall. As AR Development Lead, Ollie built the instant-win prize mechanics, where each play had a chance to win straight away from a limited prize pool. He also ran the custom prize backend, keeping it up under the traffic peaks that came from the posters.
Over the six-week run in June and July 2021 the competition was oversubscribed: weekly entries rose 367% by week three, and all 3,280 ticket prizes were claimed. The campaign was covered by Maddyness and Auganix.

I'm a creative technologist with 10+ years in AR. My filters have been viewed more than 32 billion times across TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram, and I'm a Snapchat ambassador.
